Naturopathic care ultimately involves educating a person in
making positive changes in their life in order to improve their own health. For some people dietary and lifestyle alterations may be enough, and for others additional support may be required including evidence based nutritional or herbal supplementation. A Naturopath considers the complexity of the human body including the influence of emotional and environmental factors.
Change is not always easy, however good health is an investment worth the effort!
Herbal medicine has traditionally been used all over the world for thousands of years. Many people grow herbs in their own garden for use in cooking, without realising the potential therapeutic actions they may have. Whether it be a warm cup of tea, a cleansing juice, or a soothing bath, there are numerous ways to benefit from their use.
Naturopaths may prescribe herbs in other forms including tinctures, supplements and creams, with the intent to support the body's innate ability to heal itself.
"You are what you eat!" However what you absorb is also important.
Clinical nutrition involves analysing a person's nutritional needs depending on their dietary intake, and their ability to digest and absorb nutrients, and also effectively eliminate waste and toxins.
All of these factors are fundamental to good health.
When it comes to food, and what heals or harms you, always keep in mind that your individual needs will vary from everyone else's and clinical analysis can help to specify your own unique requirements.
